Earlier this year, Charlotte Cook – brewer, writer, and contributor to Ferment Magazine – visited Malta for what was supposed to be a holiday. But, as these things go, a brewer can never truly turn off their curiosity. What she found here surprised her: a craft beer scene that, though small, had something special to offer.
One of the breweries that stood out? HUSKIE Craft Beer (yes, us!)
When Charlotte wrote about her experience, it sparked something incredible. The result; out of thousands of beers, HUSKIE’s Single Hop Pale Ale, Mosaic, was selected to be brewed, canned, and distributed in the UK through BEER52 – and as part of their 2024 BEER AWARDS BOX no less! It’s a milestone we’re still pinching ourselves over.
This beer’s journey began, like many good stories, with humble beginnings. In 2017, we started brewing in a garage in Qrendi. Back then, craft beer in Malta was almost unheard of. But what started as weekend experimentation has grown into something far bigger: a brewery in a repurposed quarry, beers flowing across local bars, and now, Mosaic taking HUSKIE beyond our shores.
The UK launch of Mosaic isn’t just about one beer; it’s about showcasing what Malta can offer. It’s about craft, quality, and local pride reaching a global audience.
So, here’s to those moments that change everything – and to every person who’s shared a pint of HUSKIE along the way.
